Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit - BC (CFSEU-BC), the Organized Crime Agency of BC (OCABC) is recruiting hard-working, self-motivated candidates for the Logistics Support Technician position to provide equipment and technical support for CFSEU-BC employees.
• Maintaining fleet vehicles through reparation,
• Updating and maintaining a fleet database,
• Liaising with CFSEU-BC employees and dealerships for repairs and accidents,
• Ensuring fleet vehicle maintenance schedules and safety recall notices are maintained,
• Supporting the equipment demands (i.e. cameras, voice privacy encrypted radios, and security systems, etc.) of CFSEU-BC units by liaising with investigative units,
• Sourcing equipment and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure safety /performance standards are maintained,
• Evaluating equipment for safety and performance standards and ensuring that equipment is up-to-date on safety recall notices,
• Troubleshooting problems/issues with equipment and vehicles and overseeing repair,
• Supplying logistical support for special operations on projects, and
• Office / building repair and maintenance duties as required
We are looking for a strong team player with a great attitude, with the following qualifications:
• High school completion plus some additional courses in basic computer skills, mechanical, technical, and/or construction studies
• Minimum 1 - 3 years of relevant experience. Experience installing mobile radios and related emergency equipment would be an asset
• Knowledge and/or experience with the operation of power tools
• Ability to multi-task and switch easily between diverse tasks
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus
• Understanding of the police environment
• Holds a valid driver’s license
• Working technical and mechanical knowledge
• Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance

Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit - BC (CFSEU-BC), the Organized Crime Agency of BC (OCABC) is recruiting an enthusiastic, self-motivated candidate to assess criminal intelligence data and provide strategic and tactical analysis support to an investigative team.
Reporting to the Criminal Intelligence Analyst Supervisor and the Staff Sergeant, this position will be responsible for:
• Determining, designing and developing data collection strategies, techniques and methods used in the
intelligence process
• Researching, evaluating, interpreting and analyzing information to identify criminal trends and patterns and to develop tactical, operational and strategic intelligence products,
• Preparing reports to identify and/or illustrate criminal group/individual associations and criminal trends,
• Conducting tactical, operational and strategic analysis for judicial purposes, including providing explanations of intelligence products and defending analytical judgements during expert witness
testimony in court,
• Participating in presentations, meetings and working groups as an expert criminal intelligence resource, and contributing to the development of new analytical methods and approaches,
• Establishing a network of internal and external contacts to identify criminal trends, collaborate on joint projects, exchange information and conduct intelligence analysis,
• Communicating and presenting analytical findings in various formats to inform management and operational personnel,
• Mentoring and supervising junior analytical positions, this includes providing guidance for analytical techniques and best practices as well as evaluating employee performance.
We are looking for a strong team player with a positive attitude who can work in a fast-paced environment, with the following qualifications:
• Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with specialization in Economics, Statistics, Sociology or related field to the position
• Minimum of 3 years experience (within the last 5 years) in intelligence analysis (in at least one of the following: crime, tactical, operational, strategic) including researching, collecting, evaluating and analyzing information to provide recommendations for decision makers.
• Minimum 3 years experience working in a police environment,
• Minimum 3 years work experience researching, analyzing and evaluating information, and preparing written reports or presenting material to decision makers.
• Experience using analytical programs and databases including; i2 Analyst Notebook, iBase or specialized mapping software.
• Experience completing witness/agent threat assessments
• Extensive knowledge of the BC gang and organized crime landscape
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to successfully complete the National RCMP Test for Intelligence Analysts
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Top Secret police security clearance
• Ability to work flexible hours on short notice is required

Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC (CFSEU-BC), the Organized Crime Agency (OCABC) is recruiting hard-working, self-motivated candidates for Forensic Specialist positions at the Provincial Forensic Firearms Laboratory. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Specialists will be responsible for forensic firearms analyses in British Columbia. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Maintaining continuity of exhibits for court purposes
• Ensuring safety procedures are followed with respect to the safe handling of firearms, biohazardous materials,
chemicals, solvents and other potential contaminants
• Examining firearms and ammunition, parts and accessories to determine legal classification and mechanical
condition; test-firing conventional and non-conventional firearms, and performing serial number restorations
• Examining and comparing cartridge components with careful consideration of uniqueness
• Examining and comparing tools/tool marks and broken objects for a physical match
• Examining physical evidence for gunshot damage and firearm discharge residues
• Providing opinions based on observations using a generally accepted range of conclusions in the relevant
scientific community and providing expert witness testimony at all levels of Court
• Performing technical and administrative peer review of notes, reports and certificates
• Conducting calibrations and other quality control activities
• Maintaining proficiency in each major area of testing
• Keeping current on new methodologies and advances in the forensic firearms identification discipline
• Training of internal and external clients
We are looking for a strong team player with a great attitude, and the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major in a natural or applied science, or relevant
field that includes laboratory coursework
• Successful completion of a firearms identification training program facilitated by a forensic laboratory
• Extensive experience safely handling and firing common firearm types of various calibres
• Extensive knowledge of forensic firearm and tool mark laboratory methods, techniques, terminology and safe
operating procedures for equipment
• Ability to examine firearms, cartridge magazines, ammunition, parts and accessories for legal classification and
mechanical assessment purposes
• Ability to restore serial numbers, conduct cartridge component/tool mark comparisons and provide estimates of
muzzle to target distance based on laboratory testing (range determinations)
• Ability to interpret analytical results, formulate expert conclusions, prepare written reports and articulate scientific
information and expert opinion to investigators and the Courts
• Extensive knowledge using Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to obtain and maintain a RCMP security clearance
